A lot of uneasiness and nerves were heightened last week as we entered into the national COVID-19 crisis. We appreciate your response to our company’s stance and update. Internally, we gave everyone in the home office the option of working from home if they felt a sense of uneasiness or fear. ALL Stone Martin Builders team members chose to remain at work on a daily basis (while observing clean and healthy habits, of course). I believe this shows the dedication our staff has to the entire Stone Marin family, as well as their dedication to delivering homes for our customers and to maintaining the stability of our economy.
The events of the past two weeks have created a stronger bond to our field staff from our home office employees than ever before. The office team realizes that the field staff and sales team are going out every day in an uneasy environment and continuing to help build the American dream. The support they have for this group is substantial and they will not back down on the daily support that they realize their extended work-family needs.
The March move-in ready home sales have remained strong. We’ve reached our anticipated sales goal well before the end of the month and new contracts are still in the works. We have only seen two contracts become void due to the results of COVID-19 out of the 400+ homes we have slated to build in for homeowners under contract.
The sales team is willing and able to keep the model homes open and keep you informed of weekly activity on your home construction process through the current events. They are staying in touch with the leadership team and communicating creative ways to continue marketing and selling. We have initiated a new process to track sales, contracts, closings, subcontractors, vendors, lenders and more that may be affected by COVID-19 and we are weekly reviewing any issues that may result in the need for adjustment to our systems and processes in order to ensure continued quality construction in a timely manner.
It is amazing that although we are told to stay separated in these times, there is an increased feeling of unity among everyone that makes an impact on Stone Martin Builders, including the customer.
I have been on the phone hourly with employees, vendors, manufactures, investors, and lenders discussing the situation at hand and I’ve never felt a more compassionate approach from all of these people who make the pieces of this company come together. No one is fearful. No one is hesitant. Everyone is ready to buckle down and expects to keep working through the tough times, while remaining safe and healthy.
As I shared last week, we realize that home building is essential to the stability of the economy, and we will do our part to keep the train on it’s tracks.
I appreciate your responses from last week. If you have any questions or thoughts please let your sales associate know, and we will address any feedback.
We will get through these times by understanding that we are all linked together in this experience. Buying a home should be the most important and exciting time of your life. It is going to be my mission during this period of uncertainty to keep that a reality.
We want you to be as excited about your new home as you were before the virus chaos began.
