What's Behind the Walls of a Stone Martin Builders Home

Sep 23, 2021

At Stone Martin Builders we pride ourselves on expertly-crafted, beautifully-designed homes. While the exteriors are certainly what makes people fall in love, it’s what you can’t see that counts the most. Behind the walls of every Stone Martin Builders home are products, systems, and building techniques that make your home more energy-efficient, comfortable, and valuable for years to come.

Energy Efficient Features

Energy efficiency is literally built into the core of our homes. We use spray foam insulation that saves homeowners an average of 40% on energy costs and keeps the inside air cooler and fresher. Tankless water heaters only use energy when hot water is requested, rather than keeping large amounts of unused water hot at all times. And Low E windows reflect heat, keeping the temperature in your home consistent by reflecting the interior temperatures back inside, making your A/C unit work less and keeping utility costs down.

Health & Safety

Stone Martin Builders uses PPG Speedhide Paint, a non-toxic and zero-VOC paint created to meet the performance requirements of professional painters. Not only does it not produce harmful emissions, the color is beautiful and coverage is flawless.

The Thinking Home is a smart home package that allows you to control your home with the touch of a screen. Whether you need to adjust the thermostat, unlock the front door, turn on the outside lights, or see who is at the door even when you're not home, you're in control.

Quality Craftsmanship

Our homes are built to exceed local building standards, providing you with a quality home that can last for generations. 2x6 advanced framing on exterior walls allows enhanced insulation and increased energy efficiency. Hardie Board cement siding is durable, termite resistant, fire resistant, easy to maintain, and can last for up to 50 years when properly maintained. Engineered hardwood flooring is installed using a tongue and groove method with moisture resistant glue that creates waterproof first-level flooring. Tiled master showers use Ditra underlayment that is lightweight, waterproof, and eliminates movement to prevent cracking in grout.

These are just a few of the features and construction methods that you can't see that make living in a Stone Martin Builders home noticeably different.
